Synopsis

HR 2327 / S 1014, the Puppies Assisting Wounded Servicemembers (PAWS) Act of 2017, would require the Department of Veterans Affairs to carry out a pilot project for awarding grants to organizations for pairing veterans with service dogs. Eligible veterans include those who have been treated for post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD) via an established evidence-based treatment, but who nonetheless still have PTSD.
