Two post-doctoral Fellow positions are available immediately to work in the group of Dr. Allan Balmain, based in the Helen Diller Family Comprehensive Cancer Center at UCSF. One position will focus on targeting of cancer stem cells, and the other on development of new strategies for cancer immunotherapy. Preference will be given to applicants with strong experience in at least one of the following areas: normal and cancer stem biology, tumor immune responses, computational biology and bioinformatics analysis of gene expression. Candidates should have strong genetic and molecular/cell biology skills, preferably with some experience in con-focal imaging and FACS sorting of fluorescent cell populations from whole tissues and tumors. Highly developed communication skills are essential.
The work is based in the purpose-built UCSF, Helen Diller Family Cancer Research Building on the new Mission Bay campus in San Francisco. UCSF has an active post-doctoral training program with many benefits (http://postdocs.ucsf.edu/).
