Preparing for Future Products of Biotechnology is a report from the National Academies of Sciences, Engineering, and Medicine that analyzes the future landscape of biotechnology products and seeks to inform forthcoming policy making. This report identifies potential new risks and frameworks for risk assessment and areas in which the risks or lack of risks relating to the products of biotechnology are well understood. The report was commissioned by the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency (EPA), the U.S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA), and the U.S. Department of Agriculture (USDA) in response to a charge, dating from July 2015, from the Office of Science and Technology Policy (OSTP) in the Executive Office of the President.
