Joint Meeting: NIH National Cancer Institute Board of Scientific Advisors & National Cancer Advisory Board

  • Agency
  • Genetics/Genomics

The Board of Scientific Advisors (BSA) and the National Cancer Advisory Board (NCAB), both within the National Institutes of Health's National Cancer Institute (NCI), will hold their 9th joint meeting.

The BSA makes recommendations on research priorities conducted or supported by the Institute. This includes the evaluation of NCI awarded grants, cooperative agreements and contracts and concept review of those activities which it considers meritorious and consistent with the Institute's programs. The advisory role of the Board is scientific and does not include deliberation on matters of public policy.

The NCAB recommends the acceptance of gifts for researching and funding programs addressing cancer, reviews grant applications for cancer research projects, publicizes information derived from cancer research, and reports on the actions of the NCI.

More information about the joint meeting is available via both the BSA and the NCAB websites.
