Position Summary

Conservation International (CI) has been protecting nature for the benefit of all for over 30 years. Through science, policy, and partnerships, CI is helping build a healthier, more prosperous and more productive planet.

The Global Strategy Coordinator will provide support for the Global Strategy Group as it leads strategy development and monitoring for the organization. Under the direction of the Director of Strategy Development, this position will provide operational, research, and programmatic support to staff within the division.

Responsibilities

  • Provide support for large and small workshops and internal and external meetings (e.g., working with vendors, managing and confirming responses, providing logistical support at the event, etc.).
  • Assist with research as needed for strategy development, implementation and monitoring.
  • Support division in communicating news and information to Conservation International Staff through various platforms (e.g., blog posts, SharePoint sites, email newsletters, etc.).
  • Assist with preparation of materials for division as needed, which may include materials for workshops, internal and external communication strategies, etc.
  • Provide administrative support by processing financial expenditures, expense reports and assist with scheduling and coordinating travel for Global Strategy staff.
  • Build and maintain a freshwater community SharePoint site.
  • Rapidly integrate and synthesize information from multiple sources to ensure that research is presented in a cohesive and consistent manner.
  • Support the maintenance and continual improvement of the strategic monitoring dashboards.
  • Assist with the tracking of the strategic Climate Change campaign partnerships.
  • Support with the organization and management Climate Change Network and Climate Change Core team meetings.

Working Conditions

  • Typical office environment.
  • Flexibility in work schedule to accommodate time difference with HQ and field programs may be necessary.
  • Occasional travel may be required to support account leads and fundraising efforts.

Required

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • A Bachelor’s degree or equivalent in environmental studies, conservation, development, or other applicable field.
  • 2-4 years of related work experience.
  • Proficiency in database operations, Microsoft Office applications, and basic computer operations.
  • Excellent communication skills and the ability to manage multiple processes at a given time.
  • Must be organized with strong attention to detail and proofreading skills.
  • Ability to function well in a multicultural, diverse, and fast-paced work environment.
  • Ability to work effectively as a member of a geographically dispersed team and to communicate with staff at offsite locations. This includes comfort with communicating via phone, Skype or Google Hangout, etc.
  • A demonstrated passion for and interest in conservation and human development issues.
