Comment: EPA, Guidance on EPA's Section 8(a) Information Gathering Rule on Nanomaterials in Commerce
EPA is requesting public comment on the draft guidance document, entitled: “Guidance on EPA's Section 8(a) Information Gathering Rule on Nanomaterials in Commerce”. This guidance provides answers to questions that the EPA has received from manufacturers (includes importers) and processors of commercial products utilizing nanoscale chemical substances as per the EPA Final Rule covered under 40 CFR 704. That rule involves one-time reporting for existing discrete forms of certain nanoscale materials, and a standing one-time reporting requirement for new discrete forms of certain nanoscale materials. Additional information about the EPA Final Rule is provided in a Duke SciPol Nanotechnology brief. Further information regarding the announced public comment is available at the Federal Register. Comments must be received on or before June 15, 2017.
