On April 24, 2017, the Federal Communications Commission issued the Public Notice titled FCC Seeks Comment and Data on Actions To Accelerate Adoption and Accessibility of Broadband-Enabled Health Care Solutions and Advanced Technologies and is requesting comments, data, and information on a broad range of regulatory, policy, technical and infrastructure issues related to the emerging broadband-enabled health and care ecosystem. Society is benefiting from the combination of broadband health technologies and wireless medical devices, such as surgeons being able to perform operations miles away from patients via robotics.

The FCC seeks information on how the Commission can help enable the adoption and accessibility of broadband-enabled health care solutions, especially in rural and other underserved areas of the country. The agency's Connect2Health Task Force expects to use this information to identify actions that the Commission can take to promote this important goal.
